One of the largest homes on the island, Ilfracombe's stone pillars make a landmark for those traveling along the coast. Built in 1927 this classic cottage will enchant you with its vast views and grand ambiance.
The front entryway of Ilfracombe is classic Maine cottage, with the intriguing addition of the phone installed in the hallway for the former owner. The main level is exceedingly comfortable beginning with the large library and seating area surrounded by windows. Privacy and quiet are yours in this home, except perhaps if you choose to make good use of the living room with its card table and ideal cocktail party atmosphere. The large terrace accessed from here has views that extend to the horizon, with no other homes visible. The large formal dining room has hosted state dinners, yet there is also a small breakfast nook adjacent surrounded by windows. A large pantry room with bar area is equipped for hosting barbeques and more. The charming kitchen has had a new range and other appliances that have been added.
The back wing offers a full bath, 2 twin rooms, and a room with 2 bunk beds + 1 twin bed, which works well for kids craving their own space.
The main part of the home has six bedrooms for a total of nine. The master bedroom with a queen bed offers a private balcony. This home can sleep a large group comfortably. Baths are four full and two half baths.
