Kate Weir Office Manager
Originally from Vermont, Kate grew up skiing/snowboarding, riding horses, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. She attended Garrison Forest School in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Champlain College with a BS in Business. A summer trip to MDI turned into many repeats where she met her future husband. She dragged the 'boat guy' to Vermont where they had two children and she helped to found True North Wilderness Program; a wilderness therapy program for struggling teenagers. But the sea called her husband and they moved back to Bar Harbor full time in 2007. After taking time to raise their children, Kate started at Summer House in 2012.
Lisa Wissinger, Rental Agent
Lisa has a background in education, software training and implementation and project management. She enjoys being active and some of her favorite activities include biking, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and traveling. This love of adventure is what brought her and her husband to MDI. After a couple of vacations here, they bought into the sloganMaine- The Way Life Should Be. In 2007, they moved to Southwest Harbor and purchased a seasonal cottage rental business where they were able to not only provide accommodations, but to also share their enthusiasm for and knowledge of Acadia and MDI with their guests. They sold the business in 2014 and Lisa spent some time working as a facilitator at Camp Beech Cliff’s Acadia Leadership Institute and devoted more time to some of her other hobbies. Lisa now brings her love of adventure and her project management skills to Summer House Cottage Rentals to help others plan the perfect stay on MDI.
