Entering the almost 16-acre property along a long, winding driveway, through a forest of old and new growth trees and abundant mosses and lichens, guests are delivered from the hustle and bustle of the village of Bar Harbor, only minutes away, to more oceanfront privacy and tranquility than one could wish for. "Bear Creek" has spectacular 180-degree views of Egg Rock Light, Thrumcap Island, Schoodic Peninsula and the ever-present open ocean beyond. Coupled with its immediate proximity to the 47,000+ acres of Acadia National Park and its mountains, lakes and hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails to explore, and all of the other activities and wonderful restaurants, cafes and boutique shopping that Mount Desert Island and the village of Bar Harbor itself are known for, “Bear Creek” provides all that is desired in an optimally located oceanfront retreat. You'll also enjoy year-round sunrises, watching boats and ocean life come and go (a whale if you’re lucky), and the companionship of a picturesque rock coastline, constantly changing ocean and frequently crashing surf.

The custom-built, 3-level, 5-bedroom, 5-bath home incorporates large, comfortable, light-filled living and entertaining spaces with cathedral ceilings.  On the first level you will find a very large living room with wood- burning stone fireplace and a resident Moose (you’ll understand when you see him), a generous professional kitchen and dining area with slate counters and an additional wood-burning stone fireplace, a library/office facing the ocean for those requiring a quiet place to work/read, a large, first-floor bedroom (with King bed) and bathroom.

On the second level you will find two matching “Master” suites, each with its own King bed, large closet, stone fireplace and spacious, private bathroom with large vanity, tiled shower and jetted tub.

On the third level are two more spacious bedrooms (each having two Queen beds) and bathrooms, plus a fun, central game room with ping pong table.

Property can comfortably accommodate 10 adults with privacy (2 per bedroom), or up to 14 (if third-floor bedrooms are to be shared (since they each have two queen beds)).  

A wrap-around, cedar deck and porch (with hot tub and outdoor grill) and a picnic table only steps from the rocky shoreline provide generous outdoor living spaces for entertaining, recovering from your lobster dinner, or just relaxing and looking out to sea as time passes.

** Period of June 8 through August 31 (“Peak Season”): Quoted Rates for Peak Season are for 2-week minimum rental period. Single week rentals during Peak Season are available, but will include additional cleaning fee of $500.

Information about your Quoted Price:
Included in your quote is the rental rate, the state lodging tax and our processing fee, A Refundable $1000 Security Deposit is also added to your lease.
Security deposits are held by our company and any expenses incurred during your stay that are over and above what is included in your lease, will be deducted from the deposit. After inspection of the property and collection of any additional bills from the owner, remaining monies will be refunded to you no longer than 30 days after your departure date.  Please allow sufficient time for mailing. Please report any damages to rental agent prior to departure to expedite this process.

Special note on Security returns: We have experienced slower mailing times in the past year through the US Postal Service. If you have not received your deposit within 30 days please contact our office. However, due to the mail system, we ask that you please allow the specified amount of time for mailing prior to calling our office as this only slows down our processing of requests. **Your agent will contact you within 10 days of departure if there are any issues with your security deposit that need to be addressed.
